Kristin Burnam's in the Spotlight today!

We have another new face at SACC: Kristin Burnam!  We're delighted to have her join us this weekend for our The Mystery of Christmas concert on Dec. 16 and 17!

Tell us about yourself, Kristin!
I was born and raised in San Antonio, TX and I still live here with my two fur babies, Frederickson and Annabelle. I'm an elementary music specialist at Cibolo Valley Elementary School in Schertz-Cibolo-Universal City ISD in Cibolo,TX. I've directed several children’s choirs and am a Music Together instructor with the Children’s Chorus of San Antonio. I got my bachelors of music in music education as well as a master of arts in teaching from Trinity University.

What other groups have you sung with?
I've performed with the San Antonio Symphony, OPERA San Antonio, and Peking University Academy of Opera in Beijing.

What's your favorite musical tradition?
My favorite musical tradition is the Christmas Vespers service at Trinity University. Even though I've already graduated, I still go every year to listen to the choir and to sing along with the carols.

What's your favorite holiday carol?
O Come, O Come Emmanuel

If you love Kristin and want to support her singing endeavors, please consider donating to the San Antonio Chamber Choir so that we can continue to provide San Antonio and South Texas with performances of the finest choral music featuring Kristin and all our extremely talented singers!  For a limited time, those who make a donation of $100 or more to SACC will receive a free copy of SACC's newest recording, Unfrozen: Christmas in the Baltics, a beautiful album of Christmas and solstice music from Latvia, Lithuania, and Estonia now available on iTunes!  It makes a perfect holiday gift for the classical music lover in your life!

Concert Time!
Don't forget to see Kristin in person this weekend on December 16 and 17 for our The Mystery of Christmas concert!  This event celebrates 100 years of recorded jazz and 1,000 years of choral music in a combined concert with special guests, the Jazz Protagonists.  Also featured will be the North East School of the Arts Dancers and the Clark High School Choir.
